This part of why the NBA and college basketball has gone down hill. 20 years ago everyone would be in agreement that he would be ready after his junior year, now its how a team would take a chance with him now and hope he develops to the same level 2 years from now. Both parties are responsible for their down fall, but they choose to blame each other, basically.
Meh, I would much rather have a NBA team develop a player more than any college team.

They still get development once they are there, but for those 2 additional years the NBA has a veteran who contributes and the NCAA gets a marquee player.

I'm not gonna hate on a kid wanting to go make millions of dollars though

No, I get that.
Its whenever you hear all the talk about why basketball is so "bad" right now, it isn't the freedom of movement, it isn't the style of play used by teasm, its the quality of talent and experience in both leagues.

Completely disagree. I will take watching guys like Anthony Davis, Derrick Rose, and Jabari Parker play one year of college basketball over not getting to see them at all. Kids have been going pro early for the last 20-30 years.
They let the game get way too physical. Louisville just won a championship by fouling so much the refs refuse to call all of them. They need to continue to adapt to NBA rules. The 35 second shot clock is painful.
Cal said it earlier this week. The NCAA officials have gone back to letting teams hand check and play much more physical again, so he told his team they need to get much more physical then. Until they get this out of the game it will continue to be an ugly product.

Not in the same amount of numbers.
Very few would go as early as common now days.
I'm not talking about the Davis' Roses, or Parker's who are NBA ready out of HS/1 year of college.
I'm talking about all the other guys who were/are not ready but will be taken in the draft anyway due to future potential not readiness to play like the guys above.

On the flipside how many Euros has the NBA drafted on potential over the years? They've been doing that for awhile, it's just trickled down to the college game with the one and done rule.

A lot of those guys end up staying over seas for a few years tho.
Portland had this guy in the 90s they drafted back in the 80s, played a few years here, then went back overseas and is probably still playing.

Yeah 14 TF's to 41, that seems fair. Never in watching college basketball have I seen such a lobsided stat. Kentucky being Kentucky.
