Musical guilty pleasures?

Anyone have any artists/songs they aren't exactly proud of themselves for liking? Mine is Drake. There are a handful of his songs that I like quite a bit. He's lame as frick, but he knows how to write a song to a girl.

I don't have any. I like what I like and don't apologize to myself or anyone else about it.

Hair Metal from the 80's. Def Leppard, Cinderella, Britney Fox, Poison, etc. So cheesy, yet, soooo awesome.

I guess it has more to do with me just not giving a frick
If I hear a beat on the radio or pretty much anywhere that catches me right, I'm downloading that shite, regardless of what I or others might think of the particular artist or genre, you know? As long as my eardrums are happy, I'm good

I definitely feel you. Otherwise I wouldn't listen to it in the first place. But I was amazed at how much Drake I've got knowing that 89% of what he puts out is reaaaallly bad.

Hey, if Drewbie be jammin', it's gotta be good, amirite?
I'll go from FL/GA Line to Lady Gaga to Eminem to the Newsboys to a Disney soundtrack and give zero fricks

Reminds me of a guy at TAMU. Black kid from a small, predominantly white, farming town. He was always listening to George Strait and such….until the brothas came around. Then he'd find the most obscene rap to put on that he could get his hands on. Not sure why that bothered me. He was a great dude, but was trying just a little too hard to maintain his black street cred.

Excluding the Gaga, I'd be right there with you. We'd have to throw in some 116 tho.

I'll typically go from Jackson Taylor and the Sinners or Roger Creager (GREAT Ag) to Black Label Society and Disturbed. Pop just still doesn't do it for me.

I've known black dudes like that who've tried to put up a front around me
Just listen to what you will--I don't get the insecure act. I honestly get my love of country music from my dad and his side of the family, it's never been about trying to fit in to one group or another. But that may be a little of a maturity thing, too.
Hell, my little brother and I regularly swap Christian rock and dubstep selections back and forth on facebook for the world to see. Someone is always gonna look at you askance because of what you're rockin' to, but so what? Once my headphones are on, it's all over but the off-key singing for me

Yeah, you could tell this kid wasn't some ghetto thug from a bad part of Houston. He was from Caldwell. It's 12% black now, but was probably lower in 1992 when I knew him. Poor kid was probably trying to shun his redneck upbringing and find some black friends. It's a tough spot to be in, but we all liked him anyway.

"Let it Go" from that Disney movie frozen. Can't get enough of it.

Shoot, he probably knew my cousins, then. My late uncle used to pastor a church in Caldwell.

Best thing to do is just embrace the fact that you're "weird." At least that's what worked for me--I just looked at it like I could relate to pretty much whomever when it came to musical tastes. People react to peer pressure in different ways, though.

You could tell he hated the rap music. He was a black country boy that was trying too hard to fit in with the urban crowd. Whites embraced him fine, but you could tell that he desperately wanted to be embraced by the black community at TAMU. Sad deal, really. He was an awesome dude.

Wow... And I thought I was the only one who knew of 116.....
