Really wish you guys would post the players name instead of a twitter handle.
Edit: see that its Melvinson. Mother fricker. Wonder what happened. I was looking forward to him contributing next season.

Hartfield is gone? Where did he go, and when will he be back?

Look for Coach Smith to possibly be encouraged to move on. This is 3 of his recruits axed in the last few days.
May not happen until after the coming season but it wouldn't surprise me.

Processed. We have to make the numbers work.

Look for the Dean kid from Fayetteville

He hasn't eaten his way to being an O-linemen yet?

I remember when Dean was a 230 lb receiver at Fayetteville High and I kept saying on HV "this guy worries me because he keeps gaining weight" and received the typical Hogville response of "hurr durr I guess Calvin Johnson is fat too hurr durr." Then he finally hit campus and was like 250 and converted to TE, and now he's almost 3 bills.
He keeps eating and he'll be a two gapping 0-tech on the other side of the ball.

I think we all realize that. It's just that Hartfield was getting such glowing remarks during the fall before the season started. A lot of us thought he would be in the WR rotation, though I was happy they redshirted him since this season was most likely going to be pretty terrible no matter what.
I just wish we had "processed" someone like an upperclassmen that hasn't played with limited upside or chance to play next season or something.

maybe Hartfield was having off the field struggles with something back home (looks like he has a kid)

Yeah, I remember reading over there how Petrino wanted him to bulk up because he could carry the weight and was going to be converted to TE from WR like Gragg was.

That or maybe he was given his shot at WR and was told he was going to be CB, where everyone was recruiting him to play.
Who knows.

He played TE his senior year at 245lbs. They might have recruited him as a WR originally, but by the time he got to his senior year it was obvious Patton was trying to get him ready to be a college tight end. Maybe that was a function of the weight gain. Just know that he played TE as a senior. We could have easily backed off of his commitment.

Maybe Hawgeye will get info on the drug tests

Updated with the finished class.
Good news and bad news.
The bad news is we didn't sign a full class. We could have used the two guys we missed on.
The good news is that I double counted the two juco guys when I initially did the list (This is why I married an accountant). So in reality, with only taking 24, we are sitting at 86 players on scholarship right now. So only one more kid has to be processed for the numbers to work out.
That really takes some of the drama out of this whole post.

Coach B just announced that Darrell Kelly-Thomas left the program.
Assuming my numbers are correct then we should be at 85.

If I had to guess, and approach the roster like I would on NCAA dynasty mode.
I'd cut:
Stringer SOOOOOOON
Beck (Looking more like Danenhauer or there might be a grades casualty)
D. Dean CHECK
K. Fisher CHECK
DKT CHECK
Ward CHECK

Good luck to him. Seems like he graduated in 2 years...
