If Georgia could just keep a fraction of it's talent instate it'd easily be competitive in today's SEC.

They are working on it. Stoops seems to be a great fit and they are renovating the stadium.

Our football program and stadium are being renovated. We have a solid coach who is bringing in our best recruiting class ever, and the stadium is getting a $110 million dollar facelift. Very happy about the future of UK football.

There is. Tons of it. Enough for us to be competing at a high level every year, even. But UGA has never made basketball a priority. Stegman Coliseum is an ancient dump and the only attention it has been paid in 50 years was to pretty it up on the outside (thereby masking the inadequacy indoors).
As for the actual team, Fox was a hopeful young hire out of Nevada but he is a piss poor recruiter. This could be helped by hiring some AAU coaches as Assistants (much like UCLA and other programs have done) but Fox has neglected to do so. So, we waste time recruiting great players against the likes of UK et al (battles we have next to no hope of winning; KCP being the anomaly) and, then, find ourselves scrambling for anyone we can get when Signing Day rolls around. Walk-ons shouldn't ever see the court in the SEC (unless they're just that good). But that's just UGA basketball.
