Can't imagine anything worse than trying to kill yourself and fricking it up. That's the worst.

We had a guy land near our boat on the Alabama River in Montgomery one day. Sombitch jumped off the I65 bridge. Believe it or not, he lived.

Might end up as a blessing.. at least I hope he learns from it and makes something out of himself.

That's a pretty long fall.

I had a buddy in high school that was "heartbroken" over his girlfriend breaking up with him, left at halftime of a football game, shot himself in the head with a .22. He survived, but his left side is pretty much paralysed and can barely talk coherently.

Gotta be honest, it's crossed my mind a few times during bad events in my life. I sure as hell am glad I didn't, because looking back now I almost laugh at how distraught I was over petty shite. Hopefully this guy pulls through with mental and limb function in tact and get the help he needs.

ETA: I just read that he passed. Terrible. I'm very Libertarian politically, but if there is one health issue that needs to be publicly funded, it is mental health. The vast majority of health and criminal issues stem from abnormal mental functions and thought processes. There is still a stigma, especially for guys, to seek help.
