Wade or Qualls, who do you want taking that shot at the end of the game?

Either. You know who I don't want shooting at the end? Madden, yet he's the guy every time and he's terrible in those situations. Plus, I don't think he hits the free throws if he draws the foul anyways b/c he's a shitty FT shooter

Quals is 1 for 1 and Madden is 0 for what, 4 or 5 game winning/tying shots now?

ETA: I forgot about the dunk to win against UK after a horrendous shot by Madden, so Qualls is 2 of 2

First, I'm sure he was given/told options. Secondly, he got an open layup. Do you really see an option for a more high percentage shot in the picture?

Isn't he over 70%

Marshall hadnt made the NCAAs at Wichita yet. no way he was gonna get the same amount of $$ as a coach with MA's resume.

BS, we could've paid him 2.5 like Mike and he'd be here right now kicking arse in this pathetic SEC that we can't even get to .500 in

1. He is a bigger dick of a person than Petrino, the whole "don't speak unless spoken to" rule for subordinates, refusal to kiss the people's arse who needs to be kissed, etc.

2. His rosters have been made up of talent players, mainly JUCOs, fine except those same players would not have qualified for SEC play.

3. He turned the fricking job down.

An off balance layup that he missed vs a wide open jump shot seems plausible to me. Lets not act like he just missed a standard lay in here

He thinks a 3 is a higher percentage shot, apparently.

Madden got an open layup, Portis had position for the rebound on the other side, Mizzou defended the shot well enough to cause a miss then slapped the ball away allowing time to run out, but don't give Mizzou credit for great play at the end of the game, it was all Arkansas' player's and coach's failures to cause the loss.

No he did not. I doubt he was ever talked to back then honestly.

I never said this, all I'm saying is when you drive and the entire world collapses on you, you kick it to a wide open shooter, there was plenty of time for this.

Also, we haven't talked about the prior possession where MA let Madden frick up once, why keep letting the kid do this. Mike needs to figure something else out in these situations b/c it's not working.

I'm glad we were competitive, sort of since I bet on Mizzou, but it's all for not when you can't finish

That was a very make-able shot, even for a high school kid. Most coaches, if given the choice, would take that over a 12-14 ft jumper from an inconsistent shooter.

If a team beat Arkansas on that EXACT same play you would be saying Anderson got out coached and bitching about an open look at a layup

He was and he did.

Mike Anderson wasn't the first or only choice for Long, why do you think he called in the former players for a meeting? To regroup.

I just don't think they offered the job to Gregg Marshall. Did they offer it to other guys, yeah, but what makes you think Marshall was even offered back then? He wasn't a final four coach then etc.

I'm not "thinking", it came out after the hire of Anderson.

No, I'd be bitching b/c we fouled him, oh wait, that's what happened in real life in this game

Like it or not, Madden is our best player right now. Who else would you like to trigger the final play?

It talked about on some of the payboards.

I believe one of them was talking about it recently.

If you haven't noticed, Long makes damn sure the hire made appears to be "his man" from the start, Arkansas hasn't been turned down publicly for any of his hires, so no source from a paper or magazine is going to exist.

I'd say Qualls and Portis are the best players, and what I'd like to see is a play at some point with screens and back cuts etc

Look, I'm not trying to be a dick, but come on with this garbage. Those guys don't know dick, just look at how far off they are when it comes to actual hires vs. what they think and let's not even get into recruiting misses on these sites

That is the only place I can direct you to on the net, I didn't say that is where I got the info from.

I know members of the local media knew about it at the time...
