With the start of SEC conference play, we are pleased to bring you the SECr Basketball Power Rankings!

A total of 28 basketball fans from our ranks will follow conference games and rank the teams every week. Our normal posting day will be Tuesday; we tried to have this out yesterday, but there was a football game on Monday night that slowed some things down.

In this first ranking, there are a variety of differing opinions. This will resolve itself throughout the season as head-to-head match-ups make things more clear.

Thank you to the voters, and here are the initial rankings!

Text Version:
1) Florida (21)
2) Missouri (7)
3) Kentucky
4) Arkansas
5) LSU
6) Tennessee
7) Ole Miss
8) Vanderbilt
9) Mississippi State
10) Auburn
11) Alabama
12) Texas A&M
13) South Carolina
14) Georgia

How are we ranked ahead of Tennessee? They wore us out at home!

2) Missouri

Too high.

6) Tennessee

Too low.

Eta: Kentucky is going to finish in the top 3, at worst. How you rank them behind Missouri at this point is a mystery to me. We don't have anyone who can guard one of their big men. Let alone the next 4 of them.

Interested to see what Arky is looking like now.

Looks like we're both vying for that #4 spot going into next weeks rankings

So basically kind of grouping them by points instead of actually saying one is ahead of another within those groups, before last nights games, you had:

UF

MU/UK

Arky

LSU/UT/OM

Vandy/MSU/Aub/Bama

A&M/SC

UGA

I would probably actually say that those groupings are pretty spot on.

Alabama at 11 is moronic, they played one of the toughest schedules in the nation and have been competitive in almost every game.

As bad as we played last night, Tennessee is damn good. If they play like they did last night they can beat anyone in the SEC. If they can stay consistent they'll be fighting for a 2-3 spot at least

A&M is completely incapable of breaking a zone. End of story.
