Land a class that is balanced, about twice as many four stars as five, very little two stars, a higher that 3.5 average star rating.

Not getting guys out of the blue. Not relying on gimmicks like having a guys 2 star brother. Having a coach other than Freeze.

I'm curious what you think a school would have to do to improve its recruiting without creating the presumption that it's buying players or cheating in some other way?

Similar to what Ole Miss did last year?
Per Scout:
5star = 4
4star = 8
3star = 14
2star = 0

Does Antonio Conner meet your criteria? He was a 5 star safety from Batesville, Ms.....25 miles down the road from Oxford.

Ok, so Robert Nkemdiche and Laquan Treadwell are both considered gimmicks. One had a high school teammate and close friend at Ole Miss while the other had a brother at Ole Miss as you mentioned. Of course Ole Miss was going to get these guys right? In your mind, yes. Therefore, no reason to "cheat" or hell even recruit. They probably never got a phone call from Ole Miss since their signature was a forgone conclusion.

Damn you win. Looks like Ole Miss better go get another coach to meet the full legit recruiting criteria of Libertyabides71.

For your friends and families sake, just stop. One day you will reveal your tigerdroppings screenname to someone you know and they will stumble upon this thread and think "damn, Liberty is an even bigger dumbass then I initially thought."

Other posters have addressed this point by showing how last year's class meets that criteria.

What qualfies as "getting guys out of the blue?" It's not reasonable to say that its someone's subjective opinion about whether a recruit will choose Ole Miss. Do you have a particular recruit in mind?

Having an existing connection to a recruit doesn't support the idea that a school cheated to get him.

This is just conjecture. You're clearly reaching. Even so, I appreciate your responses.

This is novel. So now you're saying that because Ole Miss isn't recruiting well enough that they must be cheating.

It's an interesting strategy, Cotton.
