Keep in mind that Auburn will always be overshadowed by Bama. Sucks to be second fiddle in your own state but maybe that has something to do with it.

What I can't understand is why is everyone so high on Auburn and Malzahn now? They deserve credit for playing tough down the stretch but they didn't dominate their schedule by any stretch and they needed a miracle or 2 to get where they are.

Malzahn may very well end up being a good HC but he has no track record at this level yet to judge him by. Let the man string together a few seasons with continued success before anointing him the next big thing.

You can't understand why people are high on a coach that took a team that was unranked until october to the national championship game?

No wonder you guys always want to fire les. Nothing is going to impress you.

And i think this thread was in response to a thread asking why arky fans are down on malzhan. So clearly everyone isn't high on him.

Even if that reason is because they harbor some hate from highschool.

You aren't sure why people are high on a coach that took the worst SEC team in modern history to the national championship game in his first year?

It has taken him one season to eclipse anything Miles has done in a decade.

.................................................

Check the payout that they had to give Chizik because he had a miracle year and the Auburn crowd thought that he was the "second coming". Remember this: It's very easy to sell folks on something that they really want anyway.
In a couple of years ol' Gus will have him a house next door to Gene in Auburn, and they'll both be trying to find a good hobby to occupy their time.
