of losing JFF.

Co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jake Spavital has been promoted to offensive coordinator and will take over the play calling duties.

Thank god

I'm on mobile, does it say McKinney was moved back to just RB coach?

Flame denied!

Spavital is a better choice. Sumlin didn't call the plays last year either.

cheers!

Should be a lot better than that RB coach. He was worse than Chaney. Difference is Chaney had Brandon Allen and their dude had JFF.

EVERY SINGLE TEAM that has had Sumlin as HC or OC has finished the year in the top 10 of total offense, with the sole exception of a Houston squad that finished #13 in a year when they lost their top three QBs to injury early in the year.

If Sumlin was unhappy with McKinney as a playcaller, it's for a good reason.

this is good news between the bad play calling and JFF's propensity to improvise our offense was never really run to it's full potential.

Eta fyi KK called the plays and when he left it was McKinney. Sumlin never did the play calling

Theead title is blatantly misleading, considering Sumlin had never called olshd at A&M.

Sounds like the OP thinks Sumlin was in charge of play calling. Which he hasn't been in that position at A&M since he called plays for RC back in the early 2000's.

Unless he finds a defense I would say that fall out will be inevitable

Just to chime in with all of my Aggie Koolaid-drinkers: GREAT!

I like Clarence McKinney, but I never could figure out why A&M didn't run the ball more with 4 hotshot RB's and the former RB coach running the show. The switch is of course no guarantee that play-calling will be better, but I think gives Aggies reason to be enthusiastic. We'll see.
