How about "Never Again...Not Even for a Second"

Players and other people who actually participate in these rivalries typically have more respect and a more level head towards the other than most crazy fans on either side.
You're so wrong it isn't even funny.

Yep- as the team to give up the most epic kick 6 in the history of the sport. Congrats.

That's what I'm saying. AU-UA rivalry is overrated. The hate is clearly not all there.

It is a competitive series, with massive national implications. But these tweets demonstrate a clear difference between family rivalry and blood fued.

I think both sides are a little tired of the "nuclear, scorched earth" policy we've had towards each other the last few yrs, and can respect the success each is having for a moment in time.

There is nothing wrong with that. In fact, that is a much healthier approach to a University alumni rivalry. But I think my point still stands. The hate isn't what it is built up to be.

The hate is simply tapering. It has been there, but when a program is as strong as it's been for some time (Alabama) or a program keeps fighting back (Auburn), and then you factor into the equation just how dominant the state as been, you just have to step back and respect what has been accomplished.
Maybe people from Alabama are just more rational on a whole

I think hate ebbs and flows. There was true, genuine anger and hatred only 3 years ago with the Updyke incident. Now with both programs so happy with their respective success, it is starting to fade.

It's much more difficult for the players to hate one another with the way recruiting is today. With social media the way it is today and the way these guys keep track of each other, bonds and friendships are formed. And since Auburn and Alabama recruit many of the same players, a lot of the players on both rosters know each other very well. Rivalries ain't what they used to be.

I disagree with that, but I understand where you're coming from.

The other thing is that a lot of these guys were teammates or knew each other before, possibly being friends from high school or the recruiting trail. Not crazy to think they might want a friend, even if he plays for the "enemy" to succeed.

From the first team to be shutout in a BCS bowl much less a championship. Cheers my man, seen the fifty yet?
