I think what happened in the 4th was not a play calling change. We ran it three times and went three and out on a fluke play when Louis tackled Mason. It seemed that our guys did play tight and not to lose but were also tired in the 4th for the first time.
Remember, Au is the only team to play 11 games in the SEC thus far. It was at the end of a 7 game streatch with no break and we were tired. Against a strong QB, it showed but we hung on and won. I say hung on bec AM was down, no question about it.
Glad this week is a bye for us.

Penalties killed us in the 4th. I can't remember if the offense got any but I know the defense got a ton. I was disappointed with that since we had one of the least penalized teams in the country.

Yeah, we were off sides like 5 times.
Hell, Therezie lined up a yard offsides in the 3rd on a 3rd and 3 that we stopped them on.
Dammit...look down the line!

I imagine the staff will have some "reminders" about that this week. Nothing like some stadium steps in your personal time to help with that.

~45 yards worth of penalties. Holding, offsides, face mask

Penalties and shittastic KO return team really killed us in the fourth... combine the 45 yards in penalties with 20+ yards we lost due to terrible returns (please DON'T STOP on a return bray) and we were on our heels the whole 4th.
we also played tight.... make one more first down on those earlier 4th quarter drives, we get the tempo going, possibly gas their defense more and get a FG and ice the game.

The 4th quarter reminded me of the first half vs. LSU. Sloppy play, a little tight...hopefully it's out of our system.

We should have been up 47-17 in the 4th. We knew we were dominating them and the fans, players and coaches let down our guard just a little bit.
We did not turn the ball over, but did make mental mistakes. The hold near the goal line was a mental mistake and cost us 4 points.
Silver Lining. we have learned a lesson to stay focused for 60 minutes.

Him and Trovon Reed should see their playing time decrease. Marcus Davis is clearly superior at Wide Receiver and we should have Chris Davis returning kicks along with Grant or Mason

This. They looked very hesitant in all 3 phases of the game in the 4th. UGA is one of the worst kick coverage teams and we got nada on returns.

Yeah, our KO returns just went to shite all the sudden.

I think Dee Ford lined up 3 times off sides

While it was evident that Auburn was gassed, it was clear that UGA realized they could destroy us in the short-medium pass game. Our linebackers aren't great in coverage and we play our DB's too far off the man. Murray was picking us apart and everyone saw it.

I noticed the ease of the qb sneak also.
Aj does run that from time to time. i dont think he is as fast as AM(who is not that fast), but he is not slow by any stretch either.

This. that is my main concern for the bama game. that is all they do, those little 5-7 yard dinks and dunks. not a good match up for us. we will have to get constant pressure and just get a few good stops then make the most of our possessions.

I take full responsibility for our 4th quarter collapse. I started looking ahead to the Iron Bowl and it filtered down throughout the stadium and team. I promise that it will never happen again.

Really glad we had a game like that BEFORE the IB and not during it. Lots to build off of. I am sure Bama feels the same way about the game they played against Miss St. With their uncharacteristic 4 turnovers.
Going to be a classic. Can't wait

Didn't they have a surprising amount of turnovers early against kentucky? TJ likes to cough it up
