I am from Minnesota and I went to my first Auburn game in 2010 when Auburn beat LSU. I was amazed at the whole experience and told my buddies about it constantly. I finally convinced them to go to a game, and five of us booked tickets to the Georgia game.
They are now believers as we had the time of our lives. They are absolutely amazed at the SEC passion for football. They were also blown away by the southern hospitality, tailgating, bars, beautiful campus, fantastic weather, Tiger Walk, gorgeous women, etc. The game itself was just icing on the cake.
On the flight home they all talked non-stop about how incredible the trip was. Several talked about moving to Auburn, another said he was done with pro sports after this, and two more want to go back to Auburn every year for a game.
We all love football, and the Minnesota Gophers are having a great season. Comparing Auburn to the U of M, is like comparing the Gophers to a high school. Despite being the only D1 program in the state, we can't even fill up a 43,000 seat stadium in our best season in years.
We'll be talking about this trip for the rest of our lives and can't say enough good things about Auburn. War Eagle!

You know how to pick games apparently. You should come more often. Sounds like you're a good luck charm.

Great story.

The only games equal to the two games you have been to are the 2004 LSU, 2006 UF, 2009 WVU, and the 2001 UF game I think.

1989 IB is in a class all its own.

I married a Minnesotan and transformed her into an Auburn fan......

and congratulations on the season the Golden Gophers are having.....I think the University of Minnesota football staff deserves "staff of the year" honors.. if there was such a thing

Being an AU fan and living a good distance away from the state of Alabama has its perks.

The enthusiasm of a "War Eagle" is usually much greater given the low fan density.

And when you do come in for a game, you're finally surrounded by fellow fans again. It makes campus feel like the happiest place on earth.
