Thought that was Mosely. Don't keep up with bama much and have only watched them a couple of times this year.

Oh yeah, and forgot you guys have another cupcake next week. Honestly, bama football has been pretty unwatchable this year with all the cupcakes.

I didn't see if there was a fair catch called beforehand, so I can't attest to that part of it but it's a clean hit to me. I wouldn't call 75% of the targeting calls a penalty to begin with.

The whole thing is too ambiguous and up to interpretation/POV/opinion of trajectory/intent/timing to be objectively enforced effectively.

It's the SEC, Alabama is playing, what else do you need to know. The ref has bills to pay too.

Oh look, you pointed out a typo. You're special. Go look again he came at an angle and not straight on.

Could have been 2010 in reverse. Bama loses key player for IB.

Honestly, that call is made, bama loses their best and most important player besides AJ and the IB impact would be huge. CJ is the qb of bama's D and bama will need him more than they ever have against AU's read option.
That wasn't CJ Mosley. That was wide receiver Christion Jones.

I don't think you can have targeting on a kickoff play when there's no fair catch as the player isn't considered defenseless. Also, he hit him at shoulder level (albeit his head was down).

It was a very dangerous play however, and is certainly the kind of hit they'd like to eliminate. Again, I don't think a KO can have targeting the way the rules are without a fair catch signal. It's different then a punt where the receiver has 1st rights on the ball.

How is that kick catch interference? It was on a kickoff and the ball had already bounced in front of him. It was clearly a live ball. Thanks for playing though.

Doesn't matter if it bounced, as long as it goes 10+ yds on the kick, it is a free ball for anyone, NO INTERFERENCE.

The gif shows that; what are the frame numbers?

What does "live ball" have to do with the play?

Thanks

It shows he can blow up the guy and it not be any type of interference. It wasn't like it was a punt return.

It does look like shoulder to chest, at least initially.
