SEC College Basketball Preview: CBS

LINK Article includes a breakdown of each team individually
Our Preseason All-SEC team
G: Andrew Harrison, Kentucky
G: Marshall Henderson, Ole Miss
G: Jordan McRae, Tennessee
F: Julius Randle, Kentucky
F: Willie Cauley-Stein, Kentucky
Our Preseason SEC Player of the Year
Julius Randle, Kentucky
Randle is an aggressive and explosive power forward who can step away from the basket but is better dominating around it. On a team of future pros, he's the best prospect. If anybody besides Kansas freshman Andrew Wiggins is the first pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, it'll probably be him.
Our Preseason SEC Newcomer of the Year
Julius Randle, Kentucky
Randle is, like most of Kentucky's top talent, a freshman. Did I mention that yet? If not, now you know … and understand why he's the Newcomer of the Year, too.
Our Preseason SEC Coach of the Year
John Calipari, Kentucky
Last season was a rough season for a variety of reasons as Calipari failed to make the Elite Eight -- or even the NCAA tournament -- for the first time as Kentucky's coach. But there's no reason to think another disappointing year is on tap. Calipari has the pro point guard he was missing last season. So he should win at least 30 games for the seventh time in the past nine seasons, and he might just make a serious run at 40 victories.
Three Numbers to Know
6: That's the number of McDonald's All-Americans John Calipari signed from the Class of 2013. It's a record.
9: That's the number of losses Auburn took last season in games that were separated by just one possession in the final two minutes. Turn those around, and Tony Barbee will have turned things around.
10: That's the number of 2013 McDonald's All-Americans who are now on SEC campuses. Six are at Kentucky. Two are at Florida. Arkansas and LSU got one each.

Why doesn't it show Hitler's picks?

:nb4it'sfootballseason:
And I think before it's said and done Auburn isn't the cellar team this season. Vandy is going to be hurting big time with their summer defections/suspensions. And I just don't know how Georgia replaces KCP's production.
As we've discussed before RTR, I think he ends up being better than Wiggins.

Is there a column for Calipari future vacated wins?

UF is picked by the majority to finish 2nd and doesn't have a single ALL-SEC pick.
How often has this happened?

We have a ton of Spanish players coming in to crash the boards. Saiz has a 7-6 wingspan. And Marshall is Marshall. We winning it all.

Nah, but I heard they've created an "Almost Final Four" banner for Mizzou to hang in retrospect.

It is an odd year due to just how talented Kentucky is.

A&M has been in the conference bottom four the last two seasons (Big 12, SEC). Anyone picking them above 11th is a moron.

That stat about Auburn last season is crazy.

Missouri fans don't understand quality at all.

I am feeling less confident after hearing Gary Parrish on the radio talk about him after his trip to Kansas and watching a highlight video from their first scrimmage.

I'm not a believer in Willie Cauley-Stein.

Lulz Mizzou forgets Haith was slapped around by the NCAA recently.

A lot of it is due to upside. He is insanely athletic for a 7 footer.

I think it really all depends on how both develop and Randle may have the leg up based on what he'll practice against week in and week out (add to it that nasty OOC schedule). Does more options around Randle open him up to better opportunities around the basket? That sort of thing.

How come? Just out of curiosity.
