It may not happen this year, but I have got my money on Smith, and that is not necessarily an endorsement of Gonzales. Also before every one piles on let me say that I support Mike Smith and believe we can somewhat salvage this season. However, I still feel that his seat is the hottest because of the win now or GTFO nature of being a HC in the NFL.

The Braves have to be one of the most complacent franchises in professional sports and just have developed a "meh frick it" attitude when it comes to the post season. I understand that we have a smaller payroll, but that does not mean we should have smaller expectations, hell look at what Maddon has done in Tampa.

I am in no way trying to blame last nights performances solely on either coach, but ultimately they will be the ones held accountable for the team's success, or lack thereof at the end of the season.

Depends how long both franchises take to consider their options.

Gonzales hasn't been around long with the Braves but they had a great year. Smith has been around longer with the Falcons and they went from having a Super Bowl team (well, almost) to getting beat by the backup to Mark Sanchez (granted, Geno Smith is better than Sanchez, IMO).

If we are talking about hot seats, I'd have to think that Smith's seat is much hotter than Gonzales'.

Unpopular opinion time....in baseball it doesn't matter how well or not a manager knows a game. If his team can't hit or pitch in postseason, it's on the players and not the manager. Think Bobby Cox wins the Dodgers series when Upton, McCann, Heyward, etc... suddenly forget how to hit? Do BJ and Uggla hit .280 instead of .180? No, and it's on them, not Fredi.
