I will admit I am anxious to see JJ play too, but NM has done a very solid job

If JJ as a true freshman who got on campus after him was able to push Marshall for the job, it gets me giddy with excitement to think about how good he could be.

Also, JJ adds a dynamic that Marshall doesn't which is that inside power running presence. Adds a whole different dynamic when the QB can be a threat inside and out plus as a passer. Nick right now isn't an inside running threat.

Finally, I will just be excited when we have a QB who can be accurate which we haven't truly had in awhile. Even Cam floated some passes high and missed open guys

Regardless

I don't think there is a real positive to playing JJ now if NM will be recovered fully by A&M or if JJ isn't way ahead of NM in practice. It burns JJ's RS and he loses 5 games he could have played in to gain experience. If he plays good, which he probably would against WCU, if would create a QB controversy where everyone would be calling for NM to be benched after every bad throw he makes. That would put even more pressure on him to make plays and likely lead to him playing worse. Nick is way better than what we had last year and plenty good enough to finish the season out with.

If NM can't go this week, I would rather see JW than JJ unless the coaches know JJ is better and are planning on giving him the starting job for the rest of the season no matter what.
