I don't think Alabama will win Saturday

I just don't see it. Really the only reason to believe we win is if you know for a damn fact the offensive line is ready to get their shite together. It's not like they had a rough game. They were destroyed.
A&M's defense won't be as bad as they've looked the last two weeks. They'll most likely play bend don't break D and look to get some turnovers. But they shouldn't look lost like they have been.
I'm REALLY excited to watch the chess match between Saban and our D and JM and their O. It's gonna be some great football.
Look I'm not scared or pissed or being chicken little. I just honesty don't see Alabama winning unless something MAJOR changes from last game.

As bad of a game as the O-line had, I really feel that our playbook was very Vanilla the first game. I think the approach we need is what we took against LSU in the 2011 N.C. game. First down play action passing and keep the slot receivers and tight ends the the main receivers. Make there Line backers cover 1 on 1 to stop us.

I think we'll win but it's gonna be close. I think the OL plays better, not flawless, just better. I also think our defense will play better than last year and not have us playing from so far behind.
Having said that, I won't be shocked if A&M wins either. Manziel is a hell of a QB that can hurt us both ways. I think it'll be a good game though.

We scored 5 different ways against VT. It's a game of 3 phases, and we are a more complete team.

While I think its a tossup, I disagree with you on this:
Why do you say that? Honestly, I think that its bad for them that the suspended players first game of the season will be against us. It will AT LEAST take them a half to get acclimated to get back to playing big boy football.

The offensive line didn't look great for a lot of reasons. Virginia Tech was certainly one of them, but play calling was another huge factor. How many draw plays, counters, screens, and play actions did we run? How many times did we audible at the line so that we would not be running at an 8 man front? How many plays did we run that would have caused the defensive line to have to adjust to what we were doing? The answer is not many. A lot of their mistakes were missed blocking assignments which are something that are correctable. The offensive line was asked to man up and beat a very good VT defensive line. They didn't do a great job of that, but they didn't get too much help from the play calling either.
Also, don't forget that we outscored A&M 24-9 after the first quarter. We have shown that we are capable of making the adjustments to defend A&M's offense.
Their defense has looked really bad up to this point, and I don't know what they are really going to do to change that much.
I am absolutely worried about this game, but I have confidence in the coaching staff and the players they brought in to make the necessary changes to fix the problems.

This is good stuff.

I knew something like that was coming. I've more than made up for it by wearing an Alabama shirt for 3 days in a row.

I just see their defense as athletic, but not very well coached. Like they don't play sound defense so they give up yards and try to get turnovers.

And apparently, their starting free safety is out for the year.

Why? It didn't take us that long to get going on D this year. And you don't get that many starters back playing together without getting better. Imagine if Alabama was facing te same scenario. We'd be PUMPED.

A few are coming back from injury and haven't been able to go through a full offseason.

I understand they could have helped out the line more than they did. And I know it's all correctable. I've said a few times here that I think Alabama will be by far and away the best team in te country by the end of the year. But it's gonna take some time to reach that level.

Something is. We will be going up against A&M's defense not VT's
VT will most likely be the best defense we will face all season outside of maybe LSU, but they haven't proved that yet.
Plus this team has been preparing for this game all offseason. VT was just a speed bump they had to deal with to get to this game. This was apparent looking at the game.

The offense needs to step it up big time, but the key to beating aTm is just preventing them from scoring 30 fricking points in the first half. That's what killed us last year. It seemed like we were down 3 TDs before the game even started.

This is what Chris Walsh posted last night on BOL
Kirby Smart has said he enjoys playing on the road because the home crowd is usually quiet when their team has the ball, so it easier for them to make calls on the sideline
quote:
Ok, this will be in the notebook later, but CBS' Gary Danielson just said during a conference call with reporters that he thought Alabama's coaches looked "frantic" and tried to make too many changes early on during last year's A&M game.
Said he thought they were much better and calmer in the second half, and the defense had more confidence.
