You are correct. I have no clue what pledgeship is like at DKE @ LSU. But if the parties are indeed legendary still. I'd say it may be worth it.

My pledge brothers and I weren't allowed to look at our pledge trainer in the eyes.

Yeah, but I don't think this guy was allowed to look ANYONE in the eyes.
My brother lurks on here all the time. Wish he would just get on here and tell some stories.

Other fraternities used to occasionally put up signs in the early 1980's with the same type of humor and no one got in trouble, as far as I know. It wasn't about any special protection for DKE, it was more like it was "their thing" and if another fraternity hung a sign, it was sort of lame because they were trying to be like DKE.

The partying in the video looks like it could have been at almost any house in the Animal House era. Things were different then. The things that made DKE unique don't appear in the video.

Standard at DKE.

And yea, I think lots of times it was looking at the ground for anyone. Police officers, teachers, girls.....

I never understood why the UA phi gams never accepted Fiji. They don't like that nickname

Probably, most of them were from Louisiana. I was VERY close to pledging DKE, I thought they were hilarious. It's good that I didn't because they got kicked off my freshman year.

They were kicked off in the early 90's too for shooting Santa in front of a bunch of kids.

I think they were kicked off this last time for burning cigs on pledges arms and making them eat the butts

DKE/SAE used to have "Old Southwest" around the same time as Old South solely to make fun of KA. They'd all dress up as dirty arse Mexicans. SAE got kicked off last year so I guess we'll see how that works out this year
