There were some Reb posters who were very interested in his performance.... When Murray St was ahead. They lost interest.

Seems weird considering how shitty I feel after the game. What was #1? Western Illinois a few years ago?

thanks.

I wasn't paying a ton of attention, and I hope the answer is zero, but how many 3 and outs did we have today?

I think I remember one in the 1st, but I'm not sure.

A few people told me they thought he was a better baseball player. Could still be a nice backup plan I guess.

Hey - you guys even covered the spread

There aren't a lot of teams out there this week that covered their spread (especially at 38 points).

It wasn't pretty, and if I only saw the final I'd be excited for the season.

Hopefully the team pulls it together and starts playing fricking ball, they're going to need it in SEC play.

Hell, they're going to need to up their game to hang with Indiana.

Some good things happened. But it was just Murray State.

yeah, the Rebs let us know when Murray State was leading. Third string, right?

What's so funny about that people expected Mizzou to shut out Murry St because they are FCS. I can look through a lot of schedules and post scores from teams way better than Mizzou that had FCS teams put up points. I'll start with LSU since I'm a LSUTAF member, their game last year vs Towson was 38-22. This is a LSU team 20x better than Mizzou, 4-5* recruits but a FCS team scored 22 on them. It wasn't the end of the world for them.

I can bring up other SEC, Big 12, ACC, Pac 12 teams that had FCS teams score over 14pts on them. A FCS team scores 14 on Mizzou in the 1st qtr of the 1st game of the season people want that to determine Mizzou's season, strange. But we saw how things went once the D settled in.

Is Mizzou going to light up the SEC no. But I also don't think they're the worst team in the SEC because a FCS team scored 14pts in the 1st qtr and didn't do shite after that. Yes FCS teams can score points on FBS teams....

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe Mizzou leads the SEC in picking their cupcakes!! Others in conference seem to be having tough games with the cupcakes today.

I don't think anyone expected Mizzou to shut Murray State out, that's not the issue.

I think shitting all over ourselves for a quarter of the game and allowing them to lead the game is the real issue.

I'd be happy with this final score if it came in a different way and Murray State didn't have the first team D standing in a pile of their own shite for the first fifteen minutes of the game.

I am happy with the final, though. I just wish they got the 14 in garbage time.

Next week will be a much better indicator. I liked what I saw of the offense tonight, they moved the ball well, and spread the ball around to a bunch of weapons. DGB, Washington, Lucas, Culkin, White, Hunt, Clark - all got catches tonight I think. And the RBs looked good - between Hansbrough and Josey I'm pleased with how that shaped up.

The defense settled down after the 1st quarter and played much better. But, it was an FCS team. If we have a good performance next weekend, I'll feel a bit better about our prospects.

That's my biggest concern for the team this year is the Defense. I think the offense will do well this season. Defense just have to do their part, don't need a shootout every game.

The D needs to do their part. I think the Offense will score some points, but I certainly don't think what I saw today in the 1st quarter will allow the O to keep us in many SEC games.

I can deal with some bad offensive series, hell...maybe even bad offensive quarters, but a Defense that weak will hurt us, especially against up tempo/high playcount teams.

Like I said, I'm not as worried about the score or the win, or anything as scared as I am for how unbelievably unprepared they looked in the first quarter.

I'm hoping they'll build on it and go, but I don't like seeing how bad it could be first thing in the season. I'd prefer to save that for the middle of the season.

Hopefully they take this and use it as motivation, and don't lean on the final score like most of us will.
