he's got the 2nd best arm on our team. Unfortunately our QB of the future is still a true freshman. But like you said, Bo is effective and that's all that matters.

Vanderbilt is a tough defense.

Definitely will need to see how it holds up to more talented team.

That's a testament to Vandy's scrappy style of play, not its athletes. What we saw last night- Vandy doesn't have anyone physically capable of covering Treadwell (yeah, I think I even heard the announcers say that once or twice... ); but other teams might have better players physically.

In addition, how many times did Vandy sack the QB? 5 or so? What happens against a team like Bama or LSU, where there are future 1st rd players playing on D?

Vandy tried to contain OM's offense, and it almost did enough to win. A team like LSU or Bama might crush that O-line.

Treadwell is a beast. That said, he was a surprise to everyone last night, and therefore more effective. Now teams will know they need to plan for both him and Montcrief. Ole Miss has very good receivers, and should be a tough game for most SEC teams. But, unless their OL gets it together, they're going to have some challenges through the season.

It's tough to tell much from 1 game. Everyone has kinks to work out.

Last night was an opportunity for both teams to figure out in a game situation what works. The O-line that OM started the game with did not work. Adjustments were made and there was improvement. It is what it is.

The one thing I haven't seen mentioned is how Vandy completely failed to react to OM's halftime adjustments on offense. They let them shove that read option down their throats and just watched Trailer Park Tebow get 8-10 yards every time. I think Vandy did an extremely poor job of coaching on D in the second half so not sure if the offensive success of OM in the second half will translate against tougher opponents.

Why do you think this matters?

Statistically, Vanderbilt has a good defense, scrappy or otherwise.

I may be the only person who likes Bo Wallace, including Ole Miss fans.

The guy's a loose cannon and he plays fearless, which costs him at times. But I really do appreciate his competitive fire.

If Ole Miss improves as much as they did last year from week one to week two, they will be a real tough out. I see right now the O-line is suspect and they really miss Pena in the middle of the D-line. Tough sked tho.

OM's halftime adjustments on offense.

Coaches saved the game when we adjusted our OL. Putting Tunsil at LT, Moved Emmanuel McCray to RT and Pierce Burton to RG. Austin Golson was opening up some huge gaps at LG also.

Overall I'm not thrilled with our OL obviously, but the fact that we played 100x better after those adjustments makes me hopeful.

does OM every recruit any large running backs? they need some in the SEC. they haven't had any in years. The little fast guys are good to have on team, but you need some pounders. Bo was their power runner last nite. he's a big guy, but he didn't look like tebow.

We had Brandon Bolden a couple years ago. Underperformed his senior year but he was a good size. We've got true freshman Jordan Wilkins that is good sized. Wilkins is definitely a power back.

I was asking specifically about the O. Was Vandy supposed to be that bad on D?

Georgia fans don't respect Vandy because they beat them 48-3 or some shite last year.

Their QB was running for his life half the game. They'll get bludgeoned by the better SEC defenses.

It matters. At some point, the athletic mismatch is too much to overcome.

Vandy is... Vandy. When the stars align (as they did the past couple seasons), a carefully crafted schedule and the right teams in decline, coupled with a lot of grit and hustle, allow them to scratch out 8 wins. If Auburn, Ole Miss and Tennessee hadn't been crap, this drops to 5. And would you be boasting of beating a 5 win Vandy team on a last minute score?

You can't ignore stats.

Vandy was a top-20 defense last season. They returned most of their starters from that defense. The fact that we scored 39 points on them is a testament to our offense.

If you guys establish and adjust for a running game OM is gonna be tough as shite. Nobody wants to play a team with two big time receivers while getting gashed by someone other than Bro.

I know Scott had the run of the night, just saying with a ground threat OM would've sealed this game first half.

Good fricking game though. I woke my wife up when you motherfrickers scored that last TD
