So you are an LSU fan who lived in Tennessee, who lived in Metairie, for a bit, and then moved to Nashville, and you are starting a thread about why people who are LSU fans are Saints fans when you didn't even go to LSU and no longer live in the New Orleans Metro?

Really? So all of the thousands of people who live in New Orleans and Louisiana who happen to pull for other college teams are different than you how? They actually live in the city or the state?

I haven't read this thread, but why does it matter what college saints fans pull for? I sit in front of a group of Alabama fans and they're die hard saints fans.

ETA: I'm a saints and LSU fan, but I love that most the gulf coast is saints fans.. Regardless of college affiliation.

no.

Actually, the Saint were under .500 and had no playoff appearances in their first 20 years of existence - 1967-86.
But in their next 26 years - 1987 to present, they are OVER .500 and have 5 Division Championships, 9 playoff appearances and played in 14 playoff games.

'Historically not very good?' Yeah, before 1987............

Oh, and Payton has been winning with Haslett's players all these years

You're probably the one poster who I didn't expect to actually to take the bait

I initially started this thread out of curiosity and to see how many people are bandwagon fans. I was proven wrong for the most part. Most have said they were Saints fans all along. I decided to have fun with it after I seen all of the drama that ensued.

And I lived in New Orleans for 6 years and central LA for about a decade. I also own a home in LA.

I think I qualify.

I don't care TBH. I was having fun with this thread. Like any other fan of a team who has had some success recently, I'm just annoyed by bandwagon fans.

Mississippians don't count. As GC said, it's like an extension.

I don't know why LSU fans are so territorial over the Saints. It's ridiculous.

They hate Mark Ingram too but that's another thread.

What is confusing about this, NFL vs NCAA? I have been a Saint fan for as long as I remember and a Gator fan since birth. LSU....not No, but Hell No.

They don't hate Ingram because he went to Alabama, they don't like him too much because he's just not very good (yet). He may bossom this year though, hopefully. He's shown flashes.

He's the type of back that needs a lot of consecutive carries to get going and get into a groove....

Although I must admit it that Ingram's dancing around on Bama's sideline 1/9/12 in his own home stadium and place of employment, did not enamor him with SOME Saints fans. Not AAAALLLLLLLLL, just some...

It's not confusing. But could you enlighten me on what made you pick the Saints as your team? Strictly curiosity.

This really isn't that complicated.

I know. One is a football team and the other is a college.

(Sorry to bump the thread in the midst of all this glorious Ol' Miss whining and Clowney gassing, but I just saw this, dammit.)

And I do hate that LSYOUX BAW! OH AND BREESUS TOO!!! fans have chased off some of the Saints' coastal fans, that's just sad.

Nothing is worse than north Louisiana, though, where all the former bandwagon Cowboys fans are now bandwagon LSU fans.
