I just see a whole bunch of people setting themselves up for disappointment in here. God knows I hope I am wrong but while I think we will win, the kind of stats getting tossed around here just don't jive with a first time starting QB to me.
10-19 1 TD, 1 INT. 50 yards rushing, maybe a TD.
10-19 1 TD, 1 INT. 50 yards rushing, maybe a TD.

Agreed, hope he does, but there is no way he rushes for over 90 yards like everyone is predicting.

You have to figure Gus will try and run close to 90 plays. And as someone pointed out, I think AU attacks WSU's weak secondary. What better way to break in a new QB and build confidence than giving him the chance to put up some big numbers.

It's just the chance though and it is an unproven QB throwing to an unproven WR corp. I doubt we throw it more than 20 times, and he'll probably get sacked once, maybe twice. I'd expect a ton of running, probably double digit carries for NM, Tre, and CAP.

Auburn is going to run the ball down their throats. The passing stats may be good because of a few big plays but the rushing yards will be the story
Pound and pound till they quit
Thats how I see it

Completely agree.
I think Marshall throws around 16-19 times and we just run the shite outta the ball the rest of the time to eat up clock and keep their offense off the field. It certainly won't keep them off the field like it would a ball control offense, but it will keep the clock running as long as we can continue to get first downs.
They'll start to cheat up and Marshall will make some throws to keep them honest.

I know he is Gus and usually is wide open but I just dont see him opening up the playbook in this game is our running game can control it. He may test the waters with a few plays but I just dont see it getting too crazy for Marshall and our young receivers.
We still have Arkansas State second and he may try a few different stuff then to get everyone ready for SEC Play
I may be totally off base and he may have 50 different plays but I just see it being simply zone reads, screens and power running

The reason I think we see a lot in the passing game is because we're still looking for our go to receiver.

18-27 220 1 TD 17 rush 132 2 TD
And to all those saying temper expectations bc he's a first time qb:
1. We're playing a fricking Mike Leach defense right?
2. Remember Cam's first game against Arky St? Thought so.
No further questions.
