I would take AU if the line were 13.5. I need to see us in action for one game and see the glaring strengths/weaknesses before betting w/ AU.

Freshmen or not Leach will have those boys ready to be decent, or they'll be locked in the woodshed back @ WSU on bread & water.

Our run game is going to rip them open, especially left side.

THeir LB's are small.
Their entire team looks small.

6'4 - 180 lb QB
1 WR > 180 lbs
Guards @ 260 & 270
Tackls @ 277 @ 287
Center @ 260

That QB might be broken in half if anyone on our DL can get a pass rush going. Tyler Bray weighed 35 lbs more than this kid...

Wazzou's kicker weighs more than 3/4ths of their starting LBs...

I'm wondering how accurate those weights are, though... they've probably not been updated recently. I think I read a few weeks ago that WSU was expecting their starting OL to average right at 300 Lbs. I'll try to find the article.

Leach is supposed to release an official depth chart this week... we'll probably get their official heights/weights at that time. Regardless, WSU will not be a physically imposing football team.

Whole lotta 40+ scoring output predictions going on in this thread... that's asking a lot for a new offense and new starting QB making his first D1A start against a BCS opponent. I realize Wazzou's not the 85 Bears, but they're not New Mexico St. either.

If we had proven playmakers at WR, I'd feel more confident... but as of right now, we need guys to step up and help out Marshall. Accuracy and decision making could be issues, and having consistency at WR could make a huge difference.

Wazzou's not bad against the run, at least not to runs up the middle. We can have success with the jet sweeps, designed QB runs, and reverses. Getting on the corners should be priority. That should open up CAP and Mason up the middle. But knowing gus, he'll want to try to pound the ball early, especially on 1st downs.

We have a HUNH offense and Leach has an Air Raid offense.

Man they are small. If we can't manhandle them on the line of scrimmage, god help us.

They are really small and young on the O-line. If we do not get a pass rush from our DT's in this game, it could be a long painful season.

If we run the ball like most think we can (i'm thinking well of 200 yards) then it's going to be difficult for the two teams to combine for over 70 points. We don't know what to expect from our passing game, so leaning on the RBs and QB runs is likely.

FWIW. I don't think it all comes from the O. My bold prediction for the game is we get a defensive score, likely in the form of a pick 6.

With both teams running a form of the HUNH no it's not. Clock stops on 1st downs in college remember.

good point on the turnovers.... both QBs could throw some picks for sure.

We had a defensive score in the WVU game back in 2009... that final was something like 40-30. I could see this game playing out a lot like that game in 2009... two spread offenses with suspect defenses.

Terrell Zachary scored on a few but he's the last that I remember.

Blake scored on fade in the 2nd half of the 2010 SECCG... double move, right side of the endzone.

would also like to see updated weights on their depth chart as well.

On offense, I know our RBs will probably be the studs but who do you guys think is going to have the best week on Defense? CBs? Star LBs? the D-line? I'm struggling to pick right now.
