Yes, it was the same team on the field....the EXACT same team and that was the problem. Les didn't change a damn thing and thought he would pull off the win. His famous arrogance refused to allow him to recognize how fortunate he was to win that first game and he made zero adjustments or plans for Bama changing their game plan. Bama did play better and smarter all around.
So you are saying the players had the same intensity level as they did in November? Play calling aside, are you really going to try to say that they were giving it everything they had? I won't disagree that the coaches didn't adjust properly but the players didn't even try with what was called.

I don't think there is any doubt that the first game was a fluke and I say that in reference to the field goals....not the fact that they were missed, but that the play calling even brought them into consideration. I can't remember specifically, but I believe that the number of touches that TR had in that game once bama had reached the LSU 35 yd line was a big fat zero. How in the world do you not give the ball to arguabley the best RB in the country when you get yourself down there? Again, not sure if it was zero but it was pretty dang close if not.
So you are basing your argument that it was a fluke because of piss-poor coaching. Well, then, that means that it wasn't a fluke. LSU gave it everything they had in that game and it was enough. Also, Bama was out-coached. Sounds like it wasn't a fluke to me.
quote:I don't care how he played in other games or in his dreams. LSU outplayed Bama in every way and only lost because of poor calls at the end (same argument as yours). Again, Bama winning was only as much a fluke in that game as LSU winning the year before.
Oh, and Mett performed better in that game than he ever has or will, even in his own wet dreams.

How is this 21 pages? frick. Bama fans think they'll win because they have a good team and they're fans. Same for LSU. Stop your stupid arguing. The OP was just a troll anyway.

Two things really stick out to me for reasons of confidence. 1) Alabama has better football players 2) Alabama has better football coaches. The only thing really working in lsu's favor is that this game is their Super Bowl every year.
Well, that approach has served Arkansas really well against us over the past few years.
whatever helps you sleep at night buttercup

Why Do Alabama Fans Think They Will Beat LSU?
Game shouldn't have come down to that but its 60 minutes long. We were playing a fired up team in what is without question their biggest game of the year. We're always gonna get LSU's best shot as long as Saban is our coach. All the LSU fans I know really don't care about any other games besides this one. That leads to a team playing over its head in that one game and LSU and particularly Mettenberger did that last season.
And, just exactly HOW does a Top 10 team that played and defeated:
Top 10 Texas A&M and Top 10 South Carolina BEFORE the Alabama game, play OVER THEIR HEADS ??????? -"""""""""""""" J U S T """""""""""""" because it's "Alabama" ?????????
For your information, we were behind 14-3 at halftime, and outscored you 14-0 until the last minute.
One more first down, and we do 3 kneeldowns, and Alabama leaves Baton Rouge having gained 45 yards, ONE first down, and ZERO passing yards in the second half.
LSU had their chances TOO you know, Alabama is not the ONLY one that can have 'missed opportunities".
To wit:
Long pass play to the Bama 10, called back by Copeland stupid penalty. This ultimately culminated in the missed 54 FG that gave Alabama chance to score right before the half.
That was a 14 point swing. Instead of being ahead 10-7 at halftime or 7-6 Bama, it's 14-3 Bama.
We had chances to put you people away TWICE in the second half - the first on the 4th and one wildcat by Ware that was telegraphed, and the second with 2 minutes left and 1st and 10 on your 32 yard line.

Yes, you are. By one game.
Saban is 4-3 vs Miles since 2007.
4-3.
And SEVEN of those eight games came down to the final minutes with both teams having chances to win.
Miles could EASILY by 5-2 vs Saban.
We should have won the 2008 OT game and last year's silver platter gift game.
Saban is 35-5 last 3 years.
Miles is 34-6.

A realist. You sir, I respect. LSU has a shot at beating Alabama. And Alabama has a shot at beating LSU. For either fan base to assume, or argue the other team has no chance simply does not know football.

Ok. He should have said 4 of the last 6. Does that sound all that much better?

Using your logic, Saban could easily have been 7-0 versus LSU, too, couldn't he? I mean the only game that was a runaway was won by Bama 21-0, right?

2) home game for BAMA.
And the past 10 years, the away team has won 6 times.

Ya, that's a good and all, but I meant our football team is better than yours. That's why we are going to beat you.

Yes, why would they not have the same intensity coming into that game? If they didn't they they shouldn't have been there. Was it beaten out of them in the course of the game?...yeah, probably but that's part of playing the game. Bama made them quit...MADE them. I'm sure you are right and they were not giving their all after getting their asses beat all over the field after a while.

Fair enough...perhaps fluke isn't the right choice of words for what I mean. I agree, in that respect Bama was out coached but I regard it as a fluke in that the better team lost because of some poor play calling in key situations. Granted, that is part of the "team" though so I concede your point.

Well, I would say that his level of play was a fluke....never before and never again. Just an opinion and maybe he will prove me wrong this year, we will see. Poor calls??...AJ operated like a surgeon on that drive. No defense in the country was stopping that drive. In what way did LSU outplay Bama in every way? Don't really see that at all.
