As soon as they can fill the 87,000 they have now, I'm sure they will consider expanding again.

$$$ to get there and add'l expenses keeps me from going back. It's not like AU is 40 miles from ATL (UGA) or Birmingham (UA). The Gump airport is garbage.

Well, this is why I was happy that UGA has not really considered closing in the bridge and instead put the money into Reed Alley which has made the concessions better than it was. They still need food improvement, but that area is so much nicer than it was before. UGA is lucky though in that Athens will always be a draw in and of itself regardless of the game. I will always enjoy sitting in the stadium for CFB, but now that my Sundays are spent cramming all the studying/homework in, a leisurely brunch and chill on a Sunday in Athens is heaven itself.

The money is not in the upperdeck seats, it is in the skyboxes. AU has over 50 requests from companies on a waiting list for these skyboxes or premium seating. AU has filled the stadium for most games, until the last 2 years. If they do expand it will be to make money and not to market the size of the stadium.
