I agree. I almost hate to say it, but the SEC may be building dinosaur "monuments to the past". I can see the day when sports are almost solely a studio-type event with very little live audience.
Everyone thinks the loyalty of College Football Fans will prevent it from happening. NASCAR Fans are just as loyal, but in todays world time and money have trumped sports loyalty.

I beg to differ. NASCAR was always going to be a fad. The networks ruined it when they started pushing the "soap opera" bullshite about wars between drivers. Your average uneducated redneck, what made NASCAR so great, didn't care for all of that shite. They just wanted to see shite go fast and mimic the way a big block sounds at full throttle.
College football fans are totally different. Most of them outside the states of Louisiana and Alabama actually attended at least junior college somewhere. Some even attended the school they root for. The people who are the first to give up going to your favorite schools stadiums because it too much hassle or too expensive are generally the people who have no vested interest in it other than the game. I go to see friends, to visit faculty that had a positive influence on me, to show my son where I had classes and to show him where he will have classes one day too . To relive my experience there. You can't get that in a 60 inch HDTV.
