Ole Gus can't outcoach many so he has to resort to tricks, gimmickry, and football's equivalent to a pitcher quick pitching a batter.
quote:When is that going to happen? Why should it not have that advantage?
It's going to be funny to watch when his HUNHAP (hurry up, no huddle, and punt) Mickey Mouse offense no longer has the "quick pitch" advantage.

Technically speaking the spread isn't "American" football. Maybe Bret should try to eliminate the forward pass.

You really think there is a correlation between HUNH and player safety such that the rules of the game should be altered?
C'mon man, we're talking about a 15 second window to substitute players. He's not trying to alter the game for his benefit.
If you had watched his interview yesterday you could have seen how passionate he is about the issue. You can't watch that interview and honestly think that this guy is trying to be underhanded by changing the rules so he can win more games.

that's absolutely what he's doing

Convincing argument.

I think maybe you are naive. Or, maybe BB is dumb and truly believes it to be about player safety.

That 15 second window give defenses the advantage of fresh players on the field to stop the offense.
The current rule allows for player substitution.

This is horse shite. Player safety is a laughable excuse to use because he doesn't like spread offenses.

Saban vs Bielema all wishbone no passing. Defenses run a 7-2-2 zone

Gives the offense the opportunity to negate the fresh players by putting fresh players of their own on the field.

After all this hoopla back and forth - I CAN NOT WAIT to see how Saban handles the media when they try to pummel him with questions about the HUNH/injury bullshite. Nick may blow a freakin gasket.

Being on the NCAA rules committee gives Bret far more insight into player safety than you. Believe it or not.

That is the current rule. If the offense subs, the def can as well.

Show me the player safety stats related to HUNH. The only thing he referenced was increased fatigue stats and he didn't know those other than to make a passing reference to a random email. That isn't directly related to HUNH. If he was so serious and passionate about player safety and so knowledgeable due to his committee position, you would think he would know the science/stats.

Probably should eliminate all day games too. Get the players out of the heat. Wouldn't want them to get fatigued, and possibly injured.

He made the claim, prove him wrong.
We will all wait for the statistical analysis.
