Tennessee isn't a baseball school. There is a serious lack of enthusiasm for the sport, but if Serrano can build a winner that will change. He inherited a horrible situation in a the most competitive conference. It will take time to rebuild.

It was there in the early to mid 90s. After that, Delmonico would field an NCAA team once every 4 years so the fans abandoned this strategy over the course of the last 15 years. so even when they were good in the 2001 and the 2005 CWS years, the fans didn't really care or know that they were good.

Not really. The best it could ever be is an extremely distant third behind football and men's basketball.
