It ain't the coach. Auburn basketball is just cursed. I don't think Coach K could fix Auburn basketball. In Auburn basketball history, there has only been two coaches with winning conference records and only one coach with a career record significantly over .500.

man, shut up... cliff ellis (think about that... CLIFF ELLIS) put together a good program... made the NCAA tournament three times and several NIT tournaments.
20 years ago, Auburn and Florida basketball were on the same level... the difference is they hired a Pitino assistant who turned out to be one of the best coaches in the game and we've had a couple of borderline idiots running our program over the same timeframe.
It's coaching... pure and simple... sure, it's harder to recruit here than it is a lot of places... but is it harder than Gonzaga was 15 years ago?... or Butler 10 years ago?... or any of the other countless programs that have kicked our skulls in on the way to the NCAAT like Murray State or Western Kentucky or MTSU?
