How much longer till Kirby Smart takes off to be a HC somewhere? In my mind (and others) best assistant in the country right now. Got really upset when we took Freeze over him when Nutt was fired (shrugs)

your thread title sux...you obviously didn't read the 10 commandments of TD when you signed up.

This year. Too successful. Somebody in a bad situation will offer him. Like Tennessee, Mississippi state, or mizzou.

We've expected him gone after every season since 09. It hasn't happened. So who knows? He may actually be waiting for Saban to retire.

Wonder if Kirby regrets blowing his shot at the AU job.

I've expected it to happen the last 2 years, so who knows? He must be waiting for a real slam dunk position to open up and be offered

He's turned down SEC jobs. Probably waiting for the right fit. Maybe UGA? Maybe Bama after CNS goesfishing. Who knows

Likes winning, waiting on the right job while working at the right hand of the master. Even Jimbo has had to go off script and return to the process.

I think Kirby's being really picky about what his first head coaching job is going to be. Keep this in mind. Oklahoma was the first head coaching job for Bob Stoops. Florida was the first HC job for Will Muschamp. Kirby's a more accomplished DC than both of them when they took those jobs. He's waiting for a big fish like Georgia or even a VT or Clemson-type job to open up and then he'll make the jump.
