I personally like LSU's campus as did my daughter who had been accepted there only to be involved in a fatal accident during freshman orientation in 2010. The river's a negative though, isn't it? It was pretty nasty the last time I saw it but the LSU campus, along with UA's in T-town is beautiful.

I was a student at the time and do not remember hearing about. After looking it up, I'm terribly sorry for your loss.

I wouldn't term the river as either a negative or a positive. TBH, most student rarely go near it. I'd love LSU to have more of a presence on the river which after all is the largest in the country, but that's not really possible. The Army Corps of Engineers maintains the river banks, and it would be very expensive to build anything to conform with their codes.

There is a nice running track along the river, and you'll see a lot of BR's more famous people using it. Les Miles runs it frequently, for example.
