Not gonna happen.

I started getting a gut, hell no. I'm going to bust my arse to get a 6pk back. Although, at 41 it may be more like a 4pk. I will not go down with a Buddha belly!

Did a bit more splitting. I don't know if it counts, but I'm sore.

Thanks

I've been taking a break from the gym here at the end of the year to focus on the holidays, finals, and studying for the NASM exam. Looking forward to hitting it hard again after the first of the year. Really leaning towards shredding down all year instead of bulking up part if the year.

Congrats!

Gym finally opened yesterday. I think I'll like it. Kept the workout pretty low key today - I'd like to be able to move the next two days!

Cardio and chest/arms done (all at the lowest weight on the machine! )

quick update on me. I have been MIA from this board for awhile other than reading here and there, but for good reason. lol

Earlier in the year my boyfriend proposed and we did get married in the late summer (not sure if I even announced that. dunno) Anyway, we decided we wanted to try for a baby. I thought at our age it would take forever...nope. First shot. I'm right at 9 weeks and had planned on lifting throughout and just adjusting and decereasing as I go, but that hasn't worked out. Holy shite I have felt AWFUL. I started back with running last week and did legs one day and arms another. I plan on doing legs again today but more cardio I guess. I dunno. I'm ready to feel better b/c there is no way in hell I'm going this entire pregnancy without working out. My dr just said to not increase weights and anything on my back is off limits.

Congrats!! I'm pretty sure you did not announce it, or maybe I just missed it.

Looks like you'll be the one looking most like our head coach in about 7 months. At least from the bottom of the rib cage to the hips.

I'm doing the Armstrong Pull Ups Program because I want to get better at pull ups and because it's a decent upper body workout. If you want to know what it is, just Google it, there's a million websites that explain it. Basically I do a shite load of push ups and pull ups every day. Well, it's a shitload to me. I'm not that good at pull ups.

The program is intended to help people max out their pull ups portion of the USMC PFT, which is 20 dead hang pull ups in one set. My upper body is built like that of a lifelong vegan who suffers from muscular dystrophy, so I can only manage 5-6 overhand pull ups at a time. I'm hoping to get to 10 in one set by the end of February, and maybe I'll get to 20 by the end of April. I'll reevaluate the second goal depending on how I do on the first one. (If I do underhand pull ups I can probably get 8-10 in one set, but I want to do the hard ones)

I'm doing ~30 pushups in my first set each morning, so I hope to get that to 40 by the end of February. Maybe 50 by the end of April.

Armstrong Pull Ups Program

What about for those of us who need a band on the pull-up bar to even complete a pull-up? Is this program for us?
