I disagree. I don't know how big of an impact a commitment from RN would have but I definitely think it could help. daniels was thought to be an ole miss lean early and then committed to clemson just after RN did and then decommitted right before RN did. and Kailo was quoted as saying something like he knew who ole miss was getting and he didn't want to have to play against those guys.

I'm not saying that I think it will be a deciding factor in any of their recruitments but it would have to get guys thinking

RN definetly got us involved with Treadwell, Lawson, Daniels and to some extent Coley. It has been stated numerous times that those guys knows where RN stands and Freeze would ask him to commit before NSD if it would hurt us with them if he waited. Freeze is letting him build up some excitement for his decision but I don't think anything has changed in the last month with him and OM.

Yeah I'm definitely not saying it will hurt. For the in state kids I don't think it's a factor though. They don't know him and have just finished spending a week with Jones, I'm not trying to blow more of that smoke but we all saw how he performed Saturday. If the guys left out there want to play with Kalio, Mix, Jones, and all the others they have met and played with they will come to state and if not then you straight won the recruiting battle with them. RN won't be a big factor.

Also when you get down to it, you can follow RN or go to Bama/LSU Etc... Let's be honest, 4 years from now the probability of State or Ole Miss developing a DE to out shine whoever Bama picks up this year is slim, regardless of who the kid is. (not to say we may not have a better player, but that player wont reap the benefits, publicity, and supporting defense of the one across the state line) That being said who are you going to follow, a recruit who is yet to start his college career or Nick Saban? If they were in state it could be different, but as I said earlier they have what likely in their eyes is an equal talent already committed to state who they have also formed a bond with.
