Finally, a game everybody can watch.
Not just a "regional" game from some State you will never ever go to.
Not a "redneck" game.
But a REAL game starring a REAL NATIONAL program.
Thanks Notre Dame, for giving Maine and Massachusetts and Vermont a reason to care.

Sox fans might turn on the game this year.
And maybe Tony Kornheiser.

The three largest fanbases are Texas, Bama, and ND
We already had 2 of those play each other for the NC... 3 years ago.

Alabama was the most watched football team this season. Adding ND to the other side should result in broken records imo

Bama is REGIONAL.
Just rednecks rednecking like rednecks redneck...
Now Notre Dame, that will get them hopping in each of The Canadian Provinces...

Bama is a national brand, buddy.
There are Alabama bars in NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago, etc..
I've lived all over the country and Bama fans are everywhere just like ND and Michigan fans

Looking forward to a great opportunity for Bama to shine yet again. I think the ND "luck o the Irish" in several games this season have set them up for an extreme disappointment. I truly believe they made it to the championship game a bit too early. Not ready for prime time quite yet. Although, Stanford is tough & regardless of calls, they matched Stanford's physicality.
ND has a great coach - Kelly has been successful wherever he has been
ND has a great winning tradition - albeit many years ago
ND has a HUGE fan base - Catholics abound
Problem - by barely skirting by opponents along the way ... ND is set up for extreme sadness.
The physicality is sound, but not quite there yet when it comes to playing SEC creme.
Bama playing ... is basically proxy for LSU, GA, Florida or T'A&M playing ...
Not fair yet ... for ND to play in that realm.
Could they win? Of course. Will they likely win? Not at all.

Hey I'm not here to challenge your many cherished myths, "buddy".
I'm just here to thank Notre Dame for making CFB relevant again after decades in the wilderness.

God I hope Bama embarrasses them. If it's 60-0 at half time I'll be bitching at Saban to turn up the heat on them.

I'm not gonna argue with you guys.
Most people realize Bama is a national brand. Been that way since Bear.

In 2006 nobody gave 2 shits about Alabama nationally they way they do with ND or USC even when those teams are bad.
Get the frick over yourselves.

BTW while I would definitely agree there's probably an LSU bar in NYC, having lived in Philly i'm quite positive there's not one there

It sounds more like you're the one who needs to get over us. Alabama is a national brand, really isn't debatable.

See, whether we want to (emotionally), we should cheer for our SEC brethren.
Why? The more we all dominate, the more all of us ... get more recruits ... get better bowls ... Make more $$$ - ask Texas A&M - they beat Bama this year - Kudos! They also escaped the UT shadow forever. Texas A&M has dominated UT in recruiting in their 1st year in the SEC ... a paradigm shift is about to occur ... Texas A&M will overtake UT in football based upon week to week competition.
This is the SEC power. Let it roll!
The same power that allows Texas A&M to overtake UT in recruiting is the same power that allows Miss. St. to mint dimes & fight hard in football.
At the end of the day, the Bama or Miss St or Texas A&M or whatever reality enjoys the mint that comes from playing against the best on a weekly basis.

Pepsi is a "National Brand".
But it's not Coca Cola.
Americans want Coca Cola.
And who among us wants to be anti-American ?
