I just like the fact Dye is still talked about by hundreds or maybe thousands of gumps across the state every single day of the year.

Just a reminder that Pat Dye is still the gumps daddy and always will be.

No. Paranoid Internet fans of both Auburn and Alabama would love to believe he is, though.

Who would believe a word that that old codger says in regards to having "no say," even when he is still a paid staff member. It's just odd, secretive, and cultish.

Mother of God Bama fans are fricking stupid on this situation

While Dye may recieve monthly paychecks from Auburn, it not because he is a paid staff member, it some other reason, I seem to recall something to do with licenseing or something

In Oct. 2010, he still had an office at Auburn.

How many colleges have their past HC an office on campus 18 years after their firing/retirement due to NCAA problems?

He was there to welcome Chizik.

Ever heard of Open Alabama?

It's public record that he gets a monthly (employee, not vendor) paycheck. You can find it on the auburn.edu website.

I did hear an interview back in about Oct where Pat said Auburn would NEVER hire Bob Petrino. Makes me think he did have a voice in the new hire.
