Okay, seriously, does anyone really think Murray would have tried to make a tackle?

This used to be the question, and now you are looking at it all wrong.
This is the question you should be asking, based on the way football is moving:

At what point does a helmet to helmet blindside hit become an acceptable practice?

When he unpacks his purse.

just because he's a defensive player doesn't mean you can take his head off....ask our fullback

I think Alabama won the game?

According to NCAA rules, he becomes a defenseless player when he is obviously out of the play.
To me, a player that is standing around 20 yards behind the play is obviously out of the play; not a player who is 10 yards in front of the ball carrier and jogging toward it.

At least Murray didn't cry about getting hit like your QB does.

Never with an illegal hit.

You do realize that one of the biggest game-changing plays in the LSU/Bama game was a 15 yard penalty given to LSU fullback JC Copeland when he blocked hit a Bama cornerback "away from the play". Not after, just on the other side of the field.
So, yes, Bama deserved a 15 yard penalty for taking a cheap shot on the Aaron Murray.

Good luck with that one.

Of course not, which is what makes it a dirty play and the entire point all these Bama posters are ignoring.
Murray is basically jogging to a hault as are other UGA players (#71 and #4) because they can see UGA players are in the process of tackling Clinton-Dix.
Technically Murray was going to make a tackle but anyone with a brain can see him slowing down because someone else is making the tackle and Dial is using it as an opportunity to take his head off.

I'm actually pass if it should have been called because the game is over and a penalty now cannot hurt Alabama. I do agree that a penalty should've been called in the game.
My only concern is if Dial would be suspended and I don't think he should.

I still don't understand why people are so focused on "was he defenseless" or not. That's not the issue, as soon as the ball is picked off he's fair game.
The issue is that his helmet was hit by QD's helmet, which should automatically be a penalty without any hesitation at all by an official.
