this Tennessee team would be the offensive version of Mike Shula's 2005 Alabama team.

I agree. I think we would win 9 or 10 games and it would temporarily seem like Dooley isn't an incompetent loser, but it would just be delaying the inevitable.

And to answer the OP, with Wilcox and this offense, we would most likely be 8-2 at this point.

If you want to make a more direct comparison, I think 2012 Tennessee could have been 2001 LSU. They were awesome offensively with Davey and Reed but had issues defensively (108th in pass defense, 75th in total defense). The big difference though is that Tennessee would have had no shot at winning the SEC with a 10-3 record and three conference losses.
