this Tennessee team would be the offensive version of Mike Shula's 2005 Alabama team.
Agree or disagree?
I agree. I think we would win 9 or 10 games and it would temporarily seem like Dooley isn't an incompetent loser, but it would just be delaying the inevitable.

And to answer the OP, with Wilcox and this offense, we would most likely be 8-2 at this point.

No, Jesus rebuilt his temple in 3 days...it's going to take a while for the viles.

ahh...thanks.
I like Dooley...but, think he was elevated too soon. I think UT will be better with another head coach.
Therefore, if the team would have done better and prolonged the inevitable.....probably not a good thing.
I wish Dooley and UT future success. I just do not think both will occur simultaneously

If you want to make a more direct comparison, I think 2012 Tennessee could have been 2001 LSU. They were awesome offensively with Davey and Reed but had issues defensively (108th in pass defense, 75th in total defense). The big difference though is that Tennessee would have had no shot at winning the SEC with a 10-3 record and three conference losses.

Not a bad comparison, but I was looking at the Dooley/Shula angle.
