The PAC 12 commisioner inadvertently let the cat out of the bag when he told Kiffin after preseason vote flap "Don't worry, you won't have to make this decision much longer" or something like this. This means there will be no 'formula'. They can use AP poll, Coaches poll, computers, eye test, etc. Sounds good in theory...in reality find the right guy and pay him.

In theory, a playoff could result in LSU and 'Bama playing for the NC every fricking year.
Oh, imagine how the vaginas would bleed...

Especially if ND gets their clock cleaned every year. Which is another thing. They said they were going to emphasize a team for being a conference champion...why does ND get a pass?...eff that.

Because ND, even after not having been even MARGINALLY relevant (i.e., a 10+ win year) since before the 90s, still somehow manages to grotesquely overestimate their own cachet.
They're joining the... what was it? ACC? In every sport but football?
I hope they make it to the NCG, get crushed by Alabama then start winning 10+ games a year every year and get passed over every fricking time after that.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope LSU somehow gets Sugar invite with ND and gutstomps them worse than last time.

I know college basketball does something similar with it's huge tournament but I'm not familiar with it since I'm not into basketball. There is always room for corruption though when wealth & power play a role.
Oh and your comments about confirmation bias are interesting...especially on the eve of the election.

If there were any justice in this world, the presidents of LSU and Alabama could flip a coin or something to determine who gets to rape Notre Dame. RoShamBo, maybe.

Not that I'm complaining about this but I wouldn't like it. One of my favorite things about post season is getting to play a team that we are unfamiliar with or do not play often. It's just fun and makes the bowls more exciting. That is another reason I didn't want to play Bama in the NC last year. I wanted something new...heeheehee

The NCAA runs that tournament and makes a big difference. If the powers that be at the conference foresaw hoops popularity way back when, this would have never happened. There would be a FBS type deal. As is, with 60+plus invites, corruption isn't worth the risk/reward. 4 team FBS playoff, it will be worth it....to some.

And spot-on.

Ugh, don't remind me. The American electorate is one of the most easily-led group of individuals on the face of the planet. "He represents one idea I kind of dig, so everything he says must be true, even if there's this nagging feeling somewhere deep in my malformed frontal lobe which tells me he might just be lying to me!"
No matter who gets elected, we're fricked.

Well thanks to Bama it will be Obama. So, whether he's your choice or not, there you have it as tradition dictates.

Well, I live in the South. I post on a message board populated primarily by people from the South.
I should change my avatar for today to something that will really get people riled up... but only those who understand exactly what it is that I'm doing.
There. That should piss at least one or two people off.
