No, "Gump" is actually clever. A good few of us have internalized it and taken the name for ourselves.
As LSU fans have embraced Corndog (albeit unoriginal). I've always wanted to smell like something...well, edible,

Well hell yeah!
That's UT's fault...just like an undefeated KSU not getting the invite this year.

Corndog, right. Because you're the... LSU Cornhuskers?
Whichever Auburn fan decided to plagiarize that shite was WAY past dumb.
But it is part of the popular usage now, so I have to make it original. Corndogs... Coonasses.
LSU, I dub thee "Cornasses."

It is! If they hadn't gone all prima donna, unwarranted self-importance, "I'm kind of a big deal," with their shitty little network, then the other teams would have stayed and they'd have a conference championship.
I'm kind of glad they did, because it let us back into the NCG, though.

Yeah, assuming OSU won, that extra game would have done the trick I think. More significantly though is giving up so many points to a mediocre ISU. The D was ranked 100+...not an NC caliber team, imo.
Still wished OSU got in though,

conference championship.
And that's just the thing. I know Mark May decided to go full empty suit on the air and run his big mouth, but you don't "get in" to the game by simple virtue of the fact that someone appended ", conference champion" to your team's name.
The difference-maker is the extra game. The BCS doesn't give a frick what the conferences do. For all they care, the B1G could rename themselves "The Lollipop Guild." It wouldn't make their shitty conference any better, and it wouldn't make any difference in whether any of their teams go anywhere in the postseason. The additional bonus game lets you crunch some style points for the sake of the computers and human voters. It's a beauty pageant and the entire argument is so overwhelmingly intellectually dishonest that it makes me want to drop to one knee and weep.
And I normally like Mark May too.

Because LSU (or 'Bama) would have gone in so dry on them that OSU would have ended up a dessicated husk blowing through the empty stands after the game was over.
They. Did. Not. Deserve. To. Go.

What bothered me the most was the ESPN pandering. I've said numerous times it isn't Bama's fault and I don't blame them/Saban, etc but the damn media. And the reason I mention Mark May is b/c he was adamant (would pound the desk with his fist) in making his point that you do not need to go to the NCG if you don't win your conference. Then BAM (no pun intendend, ) he all of sudden changed his tune and NEVER mentioned it again. I think that was more political than his own opinion.

We don't know this for sure. And Bama did go in dry! On us!!! But we deserved to be there. I just think our players were uninspired. I don't blame them, really.

I try not to watch the Rece/Lou/Mark clown show. It really has just gotten silly.

ESPN thought that a rematch would equal big ratings. They care far more about the bottom line than they do about the integrity of the game. Never forget that.

And his argument for this point wasn't even very compelling (except if you wanted to agree with it... it's called 'confirmation bias.' dbt is pragmatic enough to know exactly what I'm talking about.)

Mark May normally is solid. Where he fricked up was taking a stand on this issue one way or the other because the argument is fundamentally flawed at its very premise. The ONLY solution is a playoff, which we're gonna get in a couple years anyway.

I absolutely can NOT understand what Granny says. I wish he'd retire. Rece & Mark disrespect him soooo bad, especially on The Final Verdict. He always loses...

Yes. LSU did deserve to go. My point is that Okie State did not deserve to go because they were at LEAST a whole tier lower in quality than LSU and 'Bama. OSU would have gotten obliterated by either of our teams.
The only two teams who deserved to go last year went. If the game were played honestly, and a true indicator of the 'best teams' were used, LSU and Bama would play for it again this year, because I honestly am not sold on Oregon, K. State or Notre Dame.

Finally, but I have a bad feeling about selection process if it's done by a small panel. I can see corruption just around the corner.

Is a playoff really gonna work? Alot of peeps have been saying it ruins the game of college football and takes away the "every game counts" mentality. I'm not sure how to feel about it honestly.
BTW, ya'll can quit bitchin; I changed my AV.

I think the only real solution is to boycott buying tickets to games and watching them on TV. Once the money runs dry, the players will go back to playing them in empty lots and grass fields and people will come to stand in groups and watch, just like in the 1800s.
And then someone will get the big brain surgeon idea to sell tickets to it, and the whole rotten pile of dog shite will start all over again.

Even with UA invite last year this is still true most of the time, and it will be still with 4 teams. My concern is a small panel of men making decisions that affect millions and millions of dollars. Very bad recipe.

There's only one way to find out, but honestly I have my doubts just as dbt does.
There's a good reason he and I get along as well as we do.
