arky will beat state. the teams are quite similar except arkansas has already been undressed by bama. there won't be much left in state's soul after sat since they are thinking national title. arky 38 state 20
We are not thinking national title, but we do think we have a pretty good football team. There are a few SEC teams that deserve to criticize our schedule, but Alabama is not one of them. Your recent success gets you ranked near the top of the polls every season, but you haven't beaten anyone besides Michigan.

Bama has still played a much tougher schedule than State to this point. Fact.
And oh yeah, they're frickin loaded and Saban will outcoach Mullen.

you mean big 10 champion and rose bowl bound michigan of course, not to mention our team in general has proven they are a championship team. everyone knows this. if state played in the swamp and in Baton and played a michigan out of conference you would be 4-3. However Bama would still be 7-0. you are fooled by winning, but you won't be after saturday. its a process *and By the way you are thinking national title if you think you have a shot to win in Denny

First of all? Who said Alabama wasn't loaded with talent?
As for the schedule, Bama's schedule is tougher yes, but not so tough that Miss State's record would be all that different than it is now. In terms of out of division/conference teams that differ between State and Alabama sans Michigan, are you seriously saying State could not beat Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, or Missouri? For the other teams, I believe Michigan would be a good ballgame, Arkansas would've been without Wilson, and Ole Miss could be a toss up this year.
At worst, I see us at 5-2 heading into the second half of the season. I don't think Arkansas would beat us without their golden boy.

You got damn near 120 points hung on you by the two TX schools.
61 + 30 = 91, so just 29 points shy of that 120 you mentioned

Michigan is the toughest out of conference team you've played all season or will play. I wouldn't make fun of our schedule, when yours isn't much better.
Yes, Michigan, the team that's a shoe-in to win the Big Ten at this point. A team whose two losses are to the #1 and #5 teams in the country. Such a shitty football team I tell ya.

If Ole Miss and State swapped schedules, what would each team's record be at this point?

I know right? Motherfricker can't count for shite.
EDIT: And here's the difference between y'all and us, engie. Y'all are convinced that you're something you're not. We're pretty well grounded as to where we are, where we were, and where it is that we may be going.
Hell, few of us are all that sure about beating Arkansas this weekend, and they've been pretty damn schizophrenic as a program this year.

4th best team in the B1G right now. Will lose to Wisconsin in the championship game. Yes, Wisconsin did start slow as well...

Or I could say that Michigan has lost to the only teams it has played that were ranked in the top 25, and will probably win one of the worst AQ conferences in college football on a technicality because Ohio State is on probation.
I think Michigan is a quality team though, so we agree that there's only about a one game difference between the two schedules? As a state fan, I'd be more than pleased with 6-1 or 5-2 at this point in the season, but one quality win doesn't prove Alabama has a much better schedule.

Eh, that's very debatable. Since OSU is ineligible for the postseason, Michigan is the shoe in for the title and the Rose Bowl berth right now.
We'll learn a lot about them when they play Nebraska this Saturday. That should be a good game.

What do you think we have convinced ourselves that we are? I think we are a top 25 team. Likely a top 20 team... and probably the 3rd best team in the west. What part of that is unreasonable based on what we have seen thusfar and what we know to be historically true about our defense?
We are better at QB(and by extension receiver) than we have been in a very long time. We are again good at RB. We are far better on the OL than anyone(other than a few of us State fans that follow closely) expected us to be. We are exactly what we thought in the defensive secondary and linebacker. DL has been disappointing thusfar, which can on some levels be attributed to rotating 12 players in all 7 games thusfar, but that is not in any way a free pass to this unit.
Ole Miss fans are, by-in-large trying to "put us in our place" when in general, we already know exactly what we are. We are just enjoying the ride and talking mad smack before, in all likelihood, Bama beats us.

It really isn't disappointment because we have historically realized what our program has done during its existence. We know how to take losing. Heaven knows we have seen our share of it. We are grateful to have these seasons and are now getting to the point where we expect to go bowling under Mullen. Every single one of you people trashing MSU right now (with the exception of of a few fanbases) would totally trade 7-0 for the 4-3 type season your team is having.
It's one for the Bama's and LSU's of the world to tell us to watch our step. It's a completely different issue all together for a team that has gone 1-16 in conference in its last 17 games, lost 4 out of the last 5 to us, and whose biggest win this year is possibly over UCA to try and put us in our place.
