I think this is some of the disconnect. Power running is not our forte really and the last two games, two teams that do play that style have tried to do exactly that vs LSU.

SC - 25 rushes, 34 yards, 1.4 ypc
UF - 58 rushes, 175 yards, 3.0 ypc

A&M - 38 rushes, 134 yards, 3.5 ypc

We really had pretty decent success running the ball (comparatively). And yet all we're hearing is we should have done what SC and UF did and line up and run right at them.

Btw, dabo, I know what you are saying. Lining up wide on 3rd and short is different for sure. Different leads to criticism, especially when it isn't successful. But here are all our 3rd and 3 and shorter from yesterday

3-1-TXAM34 (13:57) Johnny Manziel passed to Nehemiah Hicks for 7 yards.
3-3-TXAM32 (1:30) LSU was penalized 10 yards.
3-3-LSU47 (12:56) Johnny Manziel rushed for 4 yards.
3-3-TXAM44 (11:10) Johnny Manziel lost 1 yard.
3-2-TXAM29 (8:35) Ben Malena rushed for 16 yards.
3-3-TXAM43 (2:11) Johnny Manziel passed incomplete to Kenric McNeal.

We converted 4 of 6 which isn't too shabby. So, at least yesterday, unconventional or not, it worked.
