Explain how this guy is a cancer though.

He dismantled the journalism dept after they spoke out against him stuffing the BOT with his cronies courtesy of ole Donnie Siegelman.

He had a personal feud with another BOT, and once that man retired Bobby used his influence to move the economics dept (the other BOTs personal "baby" program if you will) under control of the business school and then cut all funding to the grad level education. The econ dept literally lacked the funding to hire a new professor for 15-20 years because of this. They also lost the grad school in the process.

His actions to put 2 of his cronies on the BOT in order to have control nearly cost AU its accreditation.

He tried to run this school like it was his own personal playground. He's done more damage than could ever be considered good. IDGAF about the football program if the school had lost its SACs accreditation. Peoples priorities are royally fricked up if they want Bobby back just so football "might" be good again.

And if all you care about is football you should have punched Scarbo in the fricking face for his stupid arse article about all the good Bobby did. Yeah all the good like ensuring 90% of the state's sports journos would be from that other school by nearly ending the journalism dept at Auburn. How do ya'll like that? How do you like having tons of negative articles in the news about AU every time something might be wrong? Who all in here bitched about the treatment of the Cam Newton stuff by the Birmingham news? Because that journalistic bias is a direct RESULT of Bobby's need for power.

Bobby thinking he had easy money in Florida in 07 was the best thing that has ever happened to this university because it cost Lowder his bank, his money, and his position on the BOT.

A lot of people thought this. Crippled numerous banks including his. Maybe his fortune made him a little crazy. I still appreciate the amount of money he gave to Auburn though.

The Econ Dept was in the College of Business. Our business school is not some push over ,if thats what you mean, and is consistenly ranked. Are you talking about our grad school with business? I dont follow you there. Also, I believe Econ is not in the CoB anymore, it is in Liberal Arts if I am not mistaken.

^^^^Gets it.

It doesn't matter to me what good he may have done, or how much money he and his family gave.

The Auburn BOT was never meant for a single individual to remain a Trustee for 30 years. In fact, its bylaws were specifically designed to prevent such a thing. Lowder used his political influence to circumvent those rules, and used his longevity on the BOT to dominate AU administration for decades.

No person should have that much power at a public institution. Period.
