Bobby Lowder was shitty in a lot of ways but he still brought this university into the 21st century. I don't agree with all his methods but football to academic rankings are all a result of his pushing to make Auburn a top university

I don't see how running the school like your own fiefdom is bringing the university into the 21st century. He ruined a well respected economics department and his control over the office of university president led to our troubles with SACS.

True. I have been saying for years Bobby Lowder has done more for AU than anyone not named Pat Dye over the last 50 years. And Lowder was the one that got Dye here and threw his support behind him.
Auburn as a university and athletics department owe a huge debt of gratitude to Lowder.
