What the hell is up with all the stats regurgitation? Does anybody really think that stats tell the whole truth about a team? A&M might have nice stats but c'mon, they are not comparable defensively.

Which defense does not belong?
Bama
LSU
SC
Florida
A&M

Because that matters. See Arky 2012. I can play that game too. Besides, LSU and Florida, who has a top-10 win in the SEC (current ranking)? Hell, let's go farther and include SC because they beat Georgia.

Week 6 rankings are a lot more valid than preseason.
La Tech isn't Arky. They'll be favored the rest of the way and they'll be back in the top 25 soon. I'm not puffing my chest, La Tech isnt' great, but they're legit this year.

&M's defense is #6 in yards per play in the SEC, even after facing the #1 Offense. Also #6 in scoring D. They're not that bad. Really only had 1 bad half this season.

Who the frick is this #1 O you keep going on about????????

And you did notice is #2 in that same stat and thats having 1 more game than bama

You're using the points(a statistic) La Tech got against them. What about shutting out a decent Arky O in the second half? What about holding Florida to 20? Keeping June Jones out of the end zone for the first time in 10 years? A&M has a quick strike O which means there's a lot more snaps in a game which inflates the yards and points. That's why Vegas analysts look at yards per play, points per play, turnovers and 3rd down stops rather than total yards.

It's points per game, not total, the extra game is factored. And where did I say LSU D is not good? I know it's very very good.

I can't believe we are having this discussion at all.

LaTech has played one game against a winning team ---> A&M. Put up 57, higher than their scoring average. 8 TDs. Say what you want about penalties, starters being out, etc. But your backups should be able to play football better.

I'm not a stats guy. I watch the games. I can tell if a team is good or not. I don't need to quote LaTech's potent offensive stats to determine if a team is worthy of being considered a good defense or not.

I seem to remember having these same conversations with Oregon and WVU fans last year and that worked out great for them.

You should be able to tell that your D hasn't faced a scoring in the top 50.

Your D is cabbage.CABBAGE!

Ok, glad we can agree on that

That on the other hand LaTech's #'s are very skewed... Against a legit D.. Tech doesn't sniff over 250 yards in a game..

And Those offenses put up some points and yards against LSU. Nobody's saying A&M will put up 600 yards and 50 points.

And we're not a dumpster fire.

We have made the SEC our own.

This WILL become a spread league lest you want Johnny Football and Sumlin celebrating in the ATL each year.

And their defenses didn't stop anything and both got 40+ hung on them.

The way you celebrated in the BIG12 title game every year? I think you guys should get some more skins on the wall other than beating a "ranked" LA Tech team before punching your tickets to ATL every year.
