I am making my first trip to LSU and was just wondering about this best places to eat and tailgate. I really love Cajun food so I would like some ideas about the best places. Also what are some good tailgating spots for visitors? I enjoy hanging out around opposing fans to enjoy the local experience. I am really looking forward to the trip and any help will be appreciated.

Don't waste your time. Stay in NOLA, drive into BR for the game, watch out for falling glass and bullets, then GTFO with your win and enjoy Bourbon ST,

Chines, Mike's Habitat, Parade Grounds, march down Victory Hill. Might want to get their early because there is construction around the SEZ where the visitors enter so there's probably going to be a detour to enter the stadium.

Bring a box of corndogs too. It's a tradition to pass them out to LSU fans who tiger-bait you.

Eat at Chimes. LSU fans will treat you good if you aren't an arse when you get tiger baited. Walk around campus and see Mike's cage.

Just be friendly and you will have a good time and get fed well.

Actually there is a beautiful area on the west end near the river called Scotlandville, home of a wonderful city college. You should come in early Friday and that night go out to see the sights and meet the locals.

I have heard similar stories before. Is it really that bad? Also I thought about Nola and know some other people who are staying there so that may be the route that I go. Thanks

Overrated.

I mean....if you want to see "Last Call" level females puking and guys pole-dancing on street signs, then by all means.

But I'm sure you could be able to find a nice group of LSU tailgaters to offer you a Colt 45 and fried Nutria on a stick.

Otherwise, I'm sure they have a subway or something nearby.

This is the part when I bite and talk about how much the Grove is overrated and all that other stuff, but I like the Ole Miss posters on here so I'll bite my tongue.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like Chimes is a popular choice. Is this a Cajun restaurant?
And for the record I travel in fun and have enjoyed most of the places I have been. I have tailgated in the middle of opposing fans at almost every SEC City except for Bama,LSU and the new guys. I treat the trip seperate from the game and always look to have a great time win or lose. Of course after the ball is kicked I'm all about the Gamecocks. I'm sure LSU fans are the same.

I'm suspicious of your query regarding male hard on's. I think you may be 'grooming'.
