Since moving from Baton Rouge to Dallas decades ago, I've heard this statement from A&M fans. But I've never gotten an answer to: What Tradition(s) are you talking about?
A confused Ag vs. Military personna that hurts recruiting? Granted. A band where you can join if you are good at marching even if you can't play your musical instrument? Granted. Over-hyped teams that and always consistently failed to live up the hype? Granted. Delaying building a real stadium in College Station for years under the claim that if you did so you'd block the view of buried dogs to the Aggie scoreboard? Granted. Strange neo-nazi hitler youth and as strange male cheerleaders who spend the game bending over and calling it "humping" and pointing fingers in the crowd that they call "shooting the freshmen"? Granted.
But winning any sort of conference championship of note that ever put an Aggie team in a position to compete meaningfully on a national stage? Nope, sorry - not yet.
