The problem with WVU though is they aren't used to playing a tough schedule. They play Oklahoma and Oklahoma State back to back. WVU the last few years is similar to FSU in the 90s (without the NC's of course) in that WVU in the Big East had 2 to 3 games in a season that they had to bring their A game. Even though the Big 12 isn't the SEC it's still a big step up from the Big East. WVU will have to bring their A game for every Big 12 game this year except for maybe Iowa State and Texas Tech. Other than those 2 teams any team in the Big 12 can beat WVU if they don't come ready to play. That is what's going to affect WVU this year. I could even see them potentially beating one of the Big 3 (Texas, Oklahoma, or Oklahoma State) but then losing to Kansas State or TCU. WVU will lose 3 games this year and I would put money down on that.

I agree the likelihood is no, but then if the answer is no who is team that prevents it?
Arkansas is one team that will prevent it.
Last season- 3rd best team in the SEC West... and arguably the country. Make no mistake, crushing the Hogs last year was key in both Bama's and LSU's resume. You could make the case that Arky was every bit as good as Oklahoma St or Oregon.
This season- ULM wins in Little Rock. There goes a big chunk of strength of schedule.
SEC will still get 1 in, but that loss pretty much guarantees that #2 goes to the Sugar, not get a rematch.

WVU gets chokeklahoma and OkSt at home. They do have a big home game environment.

Scoob that is a good point, Arkansas definitely helped last year. I also think it will depend on how close the LSU - Bama game in Baton Rouge is. If it's a blowout either way then no rematch, but if it's close like last year I could still see it. I think it also depends on what happens in the USC/Oregon game. If one team in that game blows out the other (say Oregon beats USC 52 - 21) then that eliminates that team even if the other team loses another game in my opinion. Like always it'll be about style points.

Voters would do everything in their power to prevent this unless the game in November is like 31-28. The national outcry about no offense last year was ridiculous.

No way media would allow it.
I think USC will get stomped by Oregon fwiw

3 pt Bama win and LSU stays in the top three with Oregon, Oklahoma or USC losing afterwards could push another rematch. USC still has defensive and depth issues I see them dropping one or two just based on depth even though they are the most talented team in the PAC 12
