I am afraid A&M's DEFENSE will make the soon-to-be-named Florida QB look like the love child of Payton Manning and Joe fricking Montana.

Florida by (at least) a TD.

This is the kind of statement people make on TexAgs about 30 minutes before kickoff after 3 hours of heavy drinking.

This game would scare the crap out of me if I were a UF fan. So many unknowns about your opponent going on the road to one of college football's storied venues (I know y'all won't be starstruck by Kyle Field, but it IS a brand new environment for Fla, at any rate). Facing a program with almost nothing to lose and everything to prove.

Gonna be a great game.

Yeah I think the biggest question is which team comes is as the favorite ? IMO UF -8.5 to -9.5

We may win ... we may not ... but 14-6 is the most unlikely score I can think of ... I think 35-31 is probably a much more likely score.

Even is UF offense sucks our defensive depth is suspect and they will be able to score on us. Even is UF defense is all world we are stacked on the OL/RB/WR and the offensive scheme will score points.

Sounds like UF at this point.

Isn't the UF offense a big unknown for the Aggie coaches?

I'm not sure scared is the word I would use. This is another throw away season IMO. Sure I would like to win them all. That's just not going to happen.

aTm was 1 and 6 against Big12 top 25 teams in 2011. New coach, new offense, new conference, and with defensive depth issue's. UF wears aTm down and scores a late touchdown and makes this game look better than it was. UF wins 28-17. Bye the way UF was 0-5 against SEC top 25 teams and was very competitive in all but LSU and Bama.

I don't see Muschamp making that mistake.

The last time Will Muschamp faced an A&M offense, his team gave up almost 300 rushing yards.

You've lost to Missouri how many times in a row at home?

What does the last time have to do with this time?

Muschamp isn't the DC at UT any longer. He's the HC at UF.

I really don't understand why you would even go there. Perhpas if he was still at UTx and you were playing them I could see your point but this?

UF has most all starters on defense coming back while aTm lost about 6.

Which six starters?

Spencer Nealy, Damontre Moore, Sean Porter, Steven Jenkins, Jonathan Stewart, Steven Campbell, and Steven Terrell all return.

That's seven starters. Plus Jonathan Mathis was a starter up until he broke his foot against Oklahoma State last year.

quote:

aTm's offense ranked 7th nationally, UF's ranked 105th there will be improvement as most starters come back.

A&M returns the entire offensive line, its starting running back, and 3 of its four starting WR/TE. That same offensive line was #4 in sacks allowed. Of the defense that led college football in sacks, #1 and #2 sack leaders (Porter and Moore) both return.

There were six top 25 teams in the Big 12 last year?

I only count four (Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Kansas State). The remaining six schools ended the season unranked.

My favorite part about football season is that in 11 days we will actually find out and we won't have to continue to have retarded hypothetical arguments any longer where everyone scours the interwebz trying to dig up past stats which have no bearing whatsover on what will happen on Sept 8th.

And I'm out.

At & with Texas players not UF

Again in The Big12 not in the SEC. Your team was 1-6 against Top25 "Big12 teams".

By the way UF is ranked 23rd and aTm is not even ranked so your percentages just went down more. If an aTm team can only go 1 and 6 against Top25 Big12 teams then I doubt very seriously aTm will beat a ranked UF team.

I wouldn't be surprised. A&M's weakness is probably mostly on defense, but I'm not sure Florida's offense is good enough to take advantage of that. Florida has a good defense, though, so the question will be how well A&M has implemented Sumlin's offense and how effective it'll be against a good defense.

I think A&M will have the motivational edge, being at home playing in their first SEC game, but Florida may be the more solid team overall at that early stage of the season.

Should be a good, close game. I'll go ahead and pick A&M in a squeaker and Kyle Field goes berserk.

A&M is going to score points this year and quite a few. The OL is just too good and so are the skill players. The question is defensive depth.
I feel you. I think A&M just might shock teh Gatosr. UF isn't used to travelling outside the state of FL for OOC games. While that hasn't changed, this will have the feel of an OOC game because A&M is brand new to the SEC. And the 12th man is an awesome weapon.

Also, A&M hates Muschamp.
